The Cinematheque · Passion will hold " Wandering in the Scenes - ENCORE - Feature Exhibition of Macao's Changing Landscapes on the Silver Screen " from November 26.
Since the heyday of Cantonese films in the 50s, Hong Kong filmmakers have frequently come to Macao for shooting. Macao captured on the silver screen of Hong Kong Cinema has become a cinematic memory for moviegoers worldwide. As Macao entered a new phase of development after the millennium, filmmakers from around the world and local have presented diverse perspectives on the city, either nostalgic or forward-looking. Beloved actors such as Nick Cheung, Shu Qi, Angela Yuen and Rhydian Vaughan, all of them have been acting in our familiar corners of the city with joys and sorrows.
“ ‘Wandering in the Scenes - ENCORE’ - Feature Exhibition of Macao's Changing Landscapes on the Silver Screen” invites audiences to embark on a cinematic journey once more, strolling through the familiar neighborhoods of Macao, including the Ruins of St. Paul's, Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, and Coloane, alongside the beloved characters. We hope that visitors will rediscover Macao through the lens of filmmakers from different eras and regions.
