The film embraces his thoughts on the deeper themes of man and society, culture and faith, it had its world premiere at the 80th Venice Film Festival, and screened at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival and the 36th Tokyo International Film Festival.

Pema Tseden is a Tibetan director, screenwriter and author. Most of Pema Tseden’s films were shot in Tibetan language by Tibetan teams. Widely recognized as a pioneer of the Tibetan New Wave, Pema Tseden’s body of cinematic works includes The Silent Holy Stones, The Search, Old Dog, Tharlo, Jinpa and Balloon amongst others. His films have been selected at the Venice Film Festival, Locarno Film Festival, and many other major international film festivals, winning over forty international prizes. | |
