【NEW RELEASE】Cinema Laika + The House is Black (Restored Version)
Cinema Laika
In a small village in Finland, which has relied solely on metallurgical activities for the past two centuries, Aki Kaurismäki and his friend, the poet and writer, Mika Lätti are constructing their own cinema theater within an old foundry. The venue is surrounded by Cadillacs, motorcycles, rock bars, and the awe-inspiring beauty of nature, encapsulating the very essence of cinema's enchantment - a place where the magic resides in its profound capacity to instigate change.

The House is Black (Restored Version)
In this stark and awe-inspiring documentary, legendary poet Forough Farrokhzad rhythmically mixes faces, bodies, and words to capture the humanity in a leper colony. The House Is Black juxtaposes “ugliness,” of which there is much in the world as stated in the opening scenes, with religion and gratitude. The film’s restoration work was carried out at L’Immaginie Ritrovata laboratory in 2019.
