Lotus, a cheerful girl in the sixth grade, once naively thought her family was perfect, until she witnessed her parents go their separate ways and her father move out of the house. When the news of her parents' divorce reaches her classmates, Lotus is looked at differently by them... In order to return to her carefree days, Lotus secretly arranges a trip to Biwako in an attempt to bring her parents together by accident, but will Lotus's secret plan finally come to fruition and lead to the reunion of the two of them?

This film, which Ryusuke Hamaguchi has called ‘the peak of Shinji Aimi's work,’ vividly presents the heroine's growth in her pursuit of the future. For those who have suffered from family trauma, this is a film full of comfort and warmth, as well as a deep embrace.

About the Director

Shinji Aimi is a Japanese film director who made his debut in 1980 with his first film Kapoor. He is known for his directing style with long shots, which left an indelible mark on the Japanese film industry in the 80s. Each of his films is a celebration of the youth of young boys and girls and a portrait of their boisterous lives. His major works include: The Horseman with the Big Shovel, Snow Break, Passion, The Shining Woman, Over Tokyo, Summer Garden, and Ah, Spring, among others.

The Cinematheque・Passion is located at Travessa da Paixão which is a narrow and romantic bystreet branching off the famous World Heritage Site "Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral" (the "St. Paul's Cathedral Site") in the Historic Centre of Macau. A three-storey building equipped with ticket office, screening room, control room, film information room and exhibition space.
