In the Japanese auteur’s latest psychological action thriller, the detached cruelty of internet interactions breeds violent real-world consequences. Online reseller Yoshii chases profit by ripping off everyone in carelessly callous manner. Quitting his factory job, he relocates to a lakeside house with his girlfriend to expand his business and hide from the growing legion of enemies trying to hunt him down. When online grudges accumulate to a boiling point, cyber malice morphs into ballistic madness in this wild and suspenseful microcosm of the modern digital ecosystem.
