Amiko isn’t like other children. Her endless energy and curious eccentricities make her an outcast at school and get her in trouble at home. When a painful family loss disrupts her seemingly idyllic seaside life, her sense of isolation intensifies, yet it doesn’t stop Amiko from inviting people into her world.

![]() | About the Director Morii Yusuke (1985, Japan) graduated from the Department of Film of Nihon Institute of Cinema. He entered the industry as part of the production department of Shunichi Nagasaki's The Witch of the West is Dead. The screenwriter and filmmaker has also worked as an assistant director to Tatsushi Omori on the film Every Day a Good Day. His directorial debut, Amiko, is based on the novel Kochira Amiko by Natsuko Imamura and is selected for IFFR 2023. | |
