Discover Macau in March and April|Director in Focus : Teng Kun Hou

  Teng Kun Hou, graduated from the director group of the master's class of Dept. of Filmmaking of Taipei University of the Arts, and was selected into the 2021 Golden Horse Film Academy. The director / editing work One to Ten has won the Golden Harvest Awards Student Group Best Feature Film.

Skip the Class (2017, 20’)

Three bad things happened to Kai Kai this morning. First, he moved up to fifth grade and was put in a new, different class from Maji Kuanru. Second, his mom discussed divorce with his dad over the phone. Third, he is forced to wear a new oversized sweatshirt that looks filed and funny. On the way to school, Kai Kai decides to encourage Kuan Ru to take a break from school to go back to his hometown, Wutai. The two of them try every possible way to reach Wutai, meet many good people, and have happy and sad events. But what is certain is that the day they took off from school for the first time in their lives will become an unforgettable, unforgettable memory.

Walking in the Drizzle (2020, 35’)

Working part-time at a diner, Ming was scolded by the manager for her absent-minded behavior. The next day, she skipped her shift, and hopped on her friend’s vintage car. This duo, very different in character, started their road trip with no ends. Is this salvation, escaping reality, or a journey of self-discovery? As always, there’s no certain answers in the infinite universe of road movie.

Unofficial History of Time (2023, 25’)

The 31-year-old Tong and her partner returned to the place where they met in college, passing through the "Wufu Road" where she was born and grew up, recalling the hidden time history in her life.

A Night in Taipei Station (2017, 21’)

Night in Taipei station. The usual heavy rain has just stopped. Two girls, an old car, stuck in traffic. The girls and the car must solve a long accumulation of problems.


One to Ten (2019, 35’)

Mei, Qian and Jia Xin, 3 High school besties from Taipei had a deal to perform a mysterious ritual together, tonight. It is said that if you keep your mouth shuts, don’t look back and walk through 10 shrines in the night, your dream will come true. Mei wants to be Qian’s girlfriend, yet Qian is secretly in love with a boy from her class. Jia Xin instead, wishes Qian failed making wish.

A wish-making journey is about to start, yet strange girl Bi, join them in last minute, do you know what did she wish for?

A Beautiful Bird Day (2023, 44’)

Working in the art department, Tzu-chi often feels out of place in the crew. When she has a traffic accident at work, she doesn't realize that the cab she crashes into is carrying her sister, whom she hasn't seen for years. Fate plays a trick on her and she keeps running into bad things, but gradually she crosses the line with her family and finds her original purpose in life.

Moving (2018, 22’)

Yi-Qi and Sophie were originally a pair of best friends living together, but because Sophie began to date her new boyfriend Yucheng and disrupted the rhythm of their lives, because Sophie asked the three of them to live together, on the day of moving to a new home, Yi-Qi, who has always been gentle, put forward to set the rules of the house, so that the core of the group Sophie cannot understand, and thus led to the ups and downs of life.

Girl with Amen (2024, 40’)

The little girl, Kimmy, only wanted to sleep with her mommy, so she remembered a story her mother had told her. The story said that if you sincerely visited all the churches and temples in Macau, your wish would come true.

The Cinematheque・Passion is located at Travessa da Paixão which is a narrow and romantic bystreet branching off the famous World Heritage Site "Ruins of St. Paul's Cathedral" (the "St. Paul's Cathedral Site") in the Historic Centre of Macau. A three-storey building equipped with ticket office, screening room, control room, film information room and exhibition space.
