2024 / 104' / U.K. / In English with Chinese Subtitles / Color

17.08  Sun 16:00( With Post-screening Sharing)

The documentary follows the unique relationship of four friends - and bandmates of three decades - Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree as they came together in early 2023 to record new songs ahead of their sold-out, first-ever shows at London’s Wembley Stadium in July last summer. Featuring performances of their most iconic, much-loved songs, footage of the band in the studio and life on the road, Blur: To The End is an intimate moment in time with this most enduring of English bands, who have been at the heart of British cultural life and influence for over three decades.

Focusing on diverse global and local music culture, he plays an active role in curating, hosting and promoting arts/culture/holistic lifestyles through Radio/TV and Social Media. His signature show “Chi Chung’s Choice” from CR2/903 is still roaming around the world since the 80s.

“The iconic Britpop band, Blur, redefined pop-rock with elegance, humor, and culture. Their deep, genuine friendship, forged jamming since 1988, shines throughout the years. After two hiatuses (2003-2009 and 2015-2023), they reunited two years ago for their latest album, The Ballad of Darren.

Toby L.'s documentary, Blur: To the End, captures their intimate seaside recording sessions, tracing their roots and epic tour, including a hilarious return to their old high school. From their humble beginnings to Wembley Stadium's colossal 100,000-capacity stage, every song is packed with passion, laughter, and tears.

Catching Blur: To the End in London last summer was a jolt of pure youth, just like hearing their anthems "Boys & Girls", "Park Life", "Song 2" and “Universal” decades ago. And yes, the "To the End" music video, a tribute to Alain Resnais’s Last Year at Marienbad, remains a fan favourite.

Fun fact: Blur recorded their 2015 album, The Magic Whip, magically in Kowloon, followed by a Hong Kong tour. Its lyrics and vibe are steeped in our familiar streets. Now, it's our chance to embrace Blur up close in the cinema, then share our thoughts. Looking forward to it!”
