December | Film Club Lecture 2.0 - Theme: “Masculine” Aesthetics, “Films” That Fly

➤Speaker: Joyce Yang

➤Invited Guest: Dr. Derek Lam

➤Language: Cantonese

➤Fee: Free Admission

Theme: When Music Icons Enter Cinema
In an era of flourishing film culture, triple threats spanning song, screen and stage were the norm for stars. Beyond the likes of Anita Mui and Leslie Cheung, the “God of Pop” Jacky Cheung also left numerous iconic cinematic impressions, becoming widely circulated memes online. For audiences, the cinematic experience is inseparable from music's participation. Compelling visual narratives and background music mutually elevate each other.
Kicking off the ‘Film Chat Club 2.0’ series with a bang, we've invited Hong Kong DJ Dr Wong Chi-chung to discuss legends who transcended the boundaries between music and cinema: David Bowie, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Haruomi Hosono, Prince, Björk... We'll revisit their music through iconic film scenes. We look forward to seeing you at the cinema!
