One is a cop, the other a thief. Vincent Hanna is a brilliant LA cop whose obsession with his work has all but destroyed his personal life. Investigating a brutal armed robbery leads him to a gang lead by hardened professional criminal Neil McCauley. The heat closes in on McCauley and his crew, leading to a meeting of minds and a shattering collision from which few will emerge unscathed.

Recommendation
On the surface, Heat may seem like a crime drama but, after watching it again, it really is a love poem. Every relationship in the film is about the difficulty and challenge of love. Love for family, love for your partner, love for your friends and your vocation. But most complex of all, is the love and respect for your opponents. Just like football players who face off in a World Cup final, Al Pacino and Robert De Niro are on opposite sides of the field, but the respect with which they face off is rare. It shouldn’t be.
