Xiao Wu, an eleven year old Chinese boy and his tenant Jung, a thirty-something Korean man are living together. Xiao Wu loves sneaking into Jung's room at 4:30 a.m. and steals his things, while Jung stumbles back to his room every night drunk. Both of them suffer from addictions that seem to come from no reason at all. But it turns out that Jung's real reason for staying in Singapore is to end his life, and it is only when he fails in his quest for death that Xiao Wu begins to realize his true obsession with Jung.

About the Director
Tan born in 1976 has been heralded as the latest cult icon for Singapore. Tan's first full-length feature film 15 (2003) which he extended from his award winning short charts the misadventures of teenagers on the fringe of Singaporean society. 15 won the FIPRESCI award at the 16th Singapore International Film Festival; it broke the festival's record as the fastest selling local film in the history of the festival. 15 is also the first ever Singaporean Film to be invited to be in competition in Venice for the Lion of the Future Award. His second feature film 4:30 became the first Singapore film to be funded and co-produced by NHK Japan.
