The older Maril doubts her current relationship, and meanwhile is uncertain of life without her boyfriend. Teenaged Mary lives life her way and holds high expectations for the future. Thrown together, the two share their hopes and fears with one another.

Macao Stories 1: Paper Plane

One of the five stories of Tales from the Parish created by Macao Image. The story takes place in St. Lazarus Parish, where a middle-aged casino manager lingers outside the door of the granny flat and the Tap Seac Square late at night, reminiscing with a young boy about his past, and together they feel the hopelessness of the future.

The Bicycle Man, Macao Diary
(Macao, 1997)
A special documentary shot between 1994 and 1997 by the Portuguese Director Ivo M. Ferreira who lived in Macao for four years and his friend António Pedro before the return of the city to China. With foreigners’ unique perspective and sense, the documentary follows an old man shuttle the alleys of the city, ordinary citizens such as hawkers, sh-sellers in the markets and even prostitutes in night clubs. Looking back on the cityscape 20 years ago, it is definitely a wonderful viewing experience.
